These hoppers were the top dropper on my cast on every early morning on Loch Leven and when fish were rising on Rutland I never had them off. Claret being my top colour choice with blacks and olives not far behind.
Tied on Kamasan hooks and with the legs knotted by myself by hand and tweezers I do take pride on my hoppers. I also tie the legs hanging down which is different to the normal tied on top and to the sides, but hey never did me any harm, especially when I caught the first ever double figure fish from Loch Leven all 10lb 3ozs of it.
I do like this fly and I normally fish it as a top dropper with the bibio emerger in the middle and the Hare's ear suspender buzzer on the point giving me complete coverage from buzzer to emerger to full adult.
