After spending some time on the wonderful rivers of the USA in Colorado in September 2013, I came back with a pattern that works on both River and Still-waters to great effect. Thanks Michael Yelton for the first Squirmy.
Catching me some big fish on the Blue River in Colorado and also back home on the River Clyde I just had to try this pattern on the Lake of Mentieth also and guess what it worked extremely well as seen in the Article.
It has taken me some time to locate the correct material to tie this pattern and after some hunting down I have it here now and ready for you to tie up the SQUIRMY WORMY.
Tied in conjunction with the appropriate Candyfloss dubbing this makes one deadly pattern and even more deadly in the coloured waters after a spate.
Recently Stewart McCabe and myself placed 1st and 2nd in a heat on the chocolate coloured river Don in Aberdeen with most of the fish, well all of mine coming to the worm pattern and 75% of Stewart's coming to the worm also.
My favourite colours are Red and Blue, but Purple works well and so does green.
Don't get fooled by the fake stuff coming from China, if its not straight then its not the right stuff, the right stuff feels and stretches like none of the fakes.
